Industry experts conspired to develop the green and low-carbon transformation of the construction industry

    Recently, the 2022 Annual meeting of the China Building Energy Efficiency Association and the fifth National Building Energy Efficiency and Green Building Technology Innovation Conference were held in the form of a combination of online and offline. With the theme of "Promoting the green transformation of the industry and practicing the low-carbon development of buildings", the experts participated in the conference conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on continuing to further promote the transformation of high-level green, energy-saving and low-carbon urban and rural construction development and help achieve the goal of "double carbon".

    To achieve "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" is a broad and profound economic and social systemic change revolution, which needs the joint efforts of all walks of life to achieve. According to the China Building Energy Efficiency Association "2022 China Building Energy Consumption and Carbon Emissions Research Report", the carbon emissions of the whole process of building operation accounted for 50.9% of the total carbon emissions in the country. Promoting the development of building energy efficiency and green buildings is an inevitable requirement for implementing the new development concept and building a new development pattern.

    Lai Ming, deputy Secretary-General of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and deputy director of the Proposal Committee, stressed that it is necessary to raise the adherence to green and low-carbon to a historical height of "promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind and creating a new form of human civilization", and incorporate the "dual carbon" work into the overall strategic pattern and the "five-in-one" layout by 2035. We will unify and coordinate the work of "double carbon" with the construction of ecological civilization and the fundamental improvement of the ecological environment, and jointly promote the realization of the goal of building a beautiful China.

    Li Rusheng, chief engineer of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, said in his online speech that he expects industry colleagues to grasp the "dual control" goal of building energy conservation total and intensity, define the key field task of green low-carbon development of urban and rural construction, guide all kinds of market players, further enhance market vitality, promote the sustainable development of China's construction industry, and let users have more sense of gain and happiness.

    Bai Zhengsheng, deputy director of the Department of Standard Quotas of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, pointed out that to promote the work of carbon peak carbon neutrality in the field of urban and rural construction, it is necessary to organize industry resources, conduct scientific research in a refined and accurate way, and carry out scientific research from the perspective of the full caliber and the whole life cycle, and promote energy saving and carbon reduction in the field of urban and rural construction.

At the opening ceremony of the main forum of the conference, focusing on the themes of energy transformation under the background of "dual carbon", green and low-carbon transformation of urban and rural construction, and green finance helping the development of green buildings, Three experts, including Dai Yande, Researcher of Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission, Wu Yong, President of China Building Energy Efficiency Association and Li Xiaowen, second-level Inspector of Policy Research Bureau of China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, delivered keynote speeches respectively.

    During the meeting, a number of academicians and well-known experts made keynote speeches on how to achieve low-carbon transformation in the construction field under the background of "dual carbon".

     Jiang Yi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the Building Energy Efficiency Research Center of Tsinghua University, shared the application of carbon emission accounting methods in the construction field in practical projects. He believes that only by establishing a scientific and reasonable carbon emission accounting method can the results be included in carbon emission trading and carbon reduction be promoted by economic means.

    Combined with the status quo of existing buildings in cities and towns, Liu Jiaping, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and dean of the School of Architecture of Xi 'an University of Architecture and Technology, believes that the green transformation of existing buildings should be carried out according to local conditions.

Ding Liyun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and former president of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, shared the new opportunities of artificial intelligence faced by the construction industry, and discussed the new model of intelligent construction and its new formats, including design, production, construction and delivery of a model to the end, engineering elements sensing interconnection network collaboration, machine replacement to improve the working environment, and enterprise transformation and upgrading to develop the digital economy.

    Wu Zhiqiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, academician of the German Academy of Engineering and academician of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering, combined with his team's research on the regional distribution of China's average carbon emission high value, believes that the regional distribution of China's national carbon emission high value is almost the same as the distribution of China's urbanization built area, therefore, the key to achieve carbon neutrality lies in the city.

The China Building Energy Efficiency Association Annual Meeting 2022 and the Fifth National Building Energy Efficiency and Green Building Technology Innovation Conference, hosted by the China Building Energy Efficiency Association, will be held from December 27 to December 29, 2022, aiming to help the high-quality development of urban and rural construction under the goal of "dual carbon".
